HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE: Gary Morgan

Dr. Gary Morgan became the 15th person to be inducted into the Community College Hall of Fame during the annual conference of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix, Arizona. Morgan was presented his award during a luncheon surrounded by friends and colleagues.

The Hall of Fame is sponsored and operated by the Community College Journalism Association (CCJA), an international organization of two-year schools. Dr. Morgan was nominated by other journalism educators and was selected by a committee including CCJA officers and current Hall of Fame members.

Napoleon Johnson, CCJA President said of Morgan, "He has touched student's lives with his skillful and innovative teaching."

Morgan served as president of CCJA in 1993 and 1994. He has also served as president of the California Journalism Association for Community Colleges (JACC) and the Southern California region of JACC.

For the past two years, he has served on a select Task Force on Teaching and Learning in the New Millennium for AEJMC.

Morgan has taught at Oxnard College since 1984.
