Q: What do I receive by registering?
A: When you complete the registration, you receive instant access to all areas of our site without needing to register again. Additionally, you will receive our email edition mailed to your inbox each time the paper publishes. This email includes top calendar events, top headlines, and the day's weather. You will be able to unsubscribe at anytime.
Q: Why do you now require registration to access the site?
A: Our goal is to provide our readers with the most pertinent information possible, including news, information, and advertising. Your registration helps us better understand you, our reader. The more information you provide us, the more effective we can be at offering news, information, products, services and/or advice that meet your needs. Any personal information you share through this site will be used solely to provide an efficient, focused experience, and to deliver information and appropriate services. We are a business largely supported by advertising. And in order to provide this site to our users for free, we rely on funding from advertisers. By providing registration information, our advertising clients can better understand our demographics, and target their messages more effectively. We will never share or sell your information to a third-party unless you have authorized us to do so.
Q: What will happen to my information? Will you keep it secure and protect my privacy?
A: We will not sell, share, or rent any personally identifiable information collected from you with other third parties unless you have authorized us to do so. For in-depth information on security, please view our privacy policy (LINKED).
Q: What is a cookie?
A: Our site places a "cookie" - a small file from our server - on your computer to remember that someone at this computer has registered. Through the use of cookies, you are able to view different pages throughout our site without needing to sign-in again. Additionally, cookies allow you to visit our site at a later date without re-registering.
Q: What are the advantages of cookies?
A: Placing a cookie on your computer will allow faster, more convenient access to our top-quality local news, as you will not be prompted to log in. We'll also be able to deliver more pertinent ads and information.
Q: Why do I have to keep logging into the site?
A: Once a cookie has been placed, you will not be prompted to register again. However, if you are prompted to sign in each time you visit our site, your computer most likely is set to not accept cookies. By setting your computer to accept cookies, you will experience a faster, more convenient access to our site and view pertinent advertising. *Please note that machines at some computer labs delete cookies. If you are viewing our site from a public facility, you may be prompted to log in more frequently.
Q: I've forgotten my password and/or username. What should I do?
A: Go to the site's login page. At the bottom, click on the "I have forgotten my password" link, and enter your valid email in the pop-up window. Your password and username will be instantly sent to this address.
Q: My question is not listed in the FAQs. Where do I write for help?
A: Email [email protected] for any comments, questions or concerns about registration.
